ISPO 2012

Ispo, THE international exhibition of OUTDOOR. Last week and for few days, all the brands of outdoor was there to show their innovation for this year. I was working there three days with Five Ten. Nice time spent with the Five Ten Family !

So...what is new this year in climbing ?  Five Ten has developed their shoes and one especially : the warhawk (tested in mission impossible), a new shoes for beginners and the neon knee bar ! Petzl made a new head lamp adaptable to the light ! And the new concept of Beal : Diablo of course !

CHINA Petzl Roc Trip

Petzl Roc trip in Mexico last year, Petzl Roc trip in China this year ! Nihau China !  

I had the chance to be part again in this kind of event this year and it was especially and totally amazing !

  

I stayed there 10 days, in this really lost part of China but paradise of climbing ! On the Agenda : routes, long routes, caving, meetings, parties eventful rice and fun !!  

Share my passion and meet other climbers from the Four corners of the world, in a place and a totally different culture from us, it was just a magical moment !!

About the climbing there, the rock was incredible with some crazy volume, big hole flat. A huge arch, and you can climb there everywhere : on the side with multipitch and inside wit a lot of crazy routes. There is also really a lot of other crag around the place. I think I can't explain well this nice place, you should just have a nice time there and see it with your own eyes !

I was also really surprised with the population really welcoming, smiling. We had also the chance to come at this season when the rice harvest and they did it with very traditional method. I was also really surprised with the food which is really good. Ok you eat rice all day but that make sense when you see all the field !!

Finally, a short film about my trip in south africa enjoy it !!

South Africa

I just come back of one month in rock land with jacopo larcher, enzo oddo and Romain Wolgroth. You will say that's a long trip but for the paradise of bouldering and his thousand of problem it's definitely not enough. I feel "magic rockland" like one of the best place for bouldering. His amazing orange rock and his crazy form, powerful, technical, crimpy, flat hold, overhanging, slab, you can really find all. It's the third time, i travel around the world to discover some new place of bouldering and now i'm pretty sure I will purchase in this way ! After four month of international competition, i really appreciate to spend good time in south africa and also that make me happy that 6 month of training make me in a really good shape to do bouldering outside !  I have done my project of the trip "black shadow" 8a+. It's a boulder really physical, in compression, flat hold, toe hook and resistant, amazing movement ! After one day of working and one for making some try, i did it the third day at the first try ! And the crazy thing was i decided to go directly after to roadside to try "nutsa" 8a+ ( on the guidebook but i felt way easier than "black shadow" maybe just 8a"). After one try where i fall at the really top, i did it… in the same day ! incredible and awesome day of bouldering ! i flashed also "The hatchling" 8a (i felt it easier than other 8a), it's one of the most beautiful i have seen !  But anyway rockland it's not just a question of grade, i tried also a lot of amazing and wonderful boulder in this magic place ! I have again a lot of project there and some really hard for me… so i will come back sure next year ! Day after day, at the end of the trip, it was getting warmer and the only thing i was really scared…it was all the crazy animals you can find on the way (snake, spider….aaaahh) ! Lucky we were, we didn't see anyone !!  Now come back to france and come back to rockclimbing !
